Marika Brock is an artist and photographer whose work is synonymous with vivid colour, bold compositions, shapes and patterns, and the relationship between natural and urban landscapes, therein displaying a passion for finding the beauty in the ordinary.

With a keen interest in the visuals arts from a young age, which was encouraged by a creative family environment, Marika studied painting and photography. Her creative pursuits were put on hold for a number of years while she extensively travelled Australia and the world. It was after the arrival of her first child in 2009 that Marika was reminded of her childhood desire to add beauty to the world through art and so reignited the ‘need’ to explore her creative side.

Paying homage to her travelling past, Marika's range of photographs span international destinations including New York, Italy and Turkey. She draws inspiration from her beloved Fremantle and its colourful industrial port, which she called home for 8 years. More recently, Marika has been exploring the form and simplicity of the natural plant world.

Her works can be purchased as small block mounted, ready to hang prints and larger framed, lacquered, limited edition prints.

Marika currently lives in the coastal town of Dunsborough, Western Australia with her husband, two sons and new baby daughter and lives the day to day juggle between her two passions: family life and a creative practice.
